Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (BMY) rose 76 cents, or 2.6 percent, to $30 in extended trading yesterday. The company won U.S. approval for a drug to treat the most advanced form of breast cancer, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration spokeswoman said.

CSX Corp. (CSX) rose 97 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $43.80 in extended trading. The third-largest U.S. railroad said third- quarter profit increased to 91 cents a share. The company was expected to earn 62 cents, the average of analyst estimates.

Intel Corp. (INTC) rose $1.31, or 5.1 percent, to $26.79 in extended trading yesterday. The world's largest semiconductor maker said fourth-quarter sales may climb to $10.5 billion to $11.1 billion. Analysts predicted sales of $10.4 billion, according to the average of estimates.

Security Capital Assurance Ltd. (SCA) declined 97 cents, or 4.6 percent, to $19.90 in extended trading yesterday. The Hamilton, Bermuda-based financial insurer and reinsurer expects to report a third-quarter net loss because of a $145 million writedown on credit derivatives.
