Toyota (TM) Quarterly Profit Up 32 Percent
Cabela Inc. (CAB) climbed 86 cents, or 4.1 percent, to $21.60 in extended trading yesterday. The hunting, fishing and camping equipment retailer reported second-quarter net income of $11.3 million, or 17 cents a share. Profit was estimated to be 15 cents a share, the average of 11 analysts.
Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group Inc. (DTG) The operator of rental-car chains said it will cut 25 percent of management jobs at its Tulsa, Oklahoma, headquarters and additional administrative positions. The stock rose $1.24, or 3.5 percent, to $37.22 in regular trading.
Hertz Global Holdings Inc. (HTZ) rose $1.11, or 5.1 percent, to $23 in after-hours trading. The second-largest U.S. car-rental company said Aug. 1 that second-quarter profit surged more than fourfold from a year earlier.
IndyMac Bancorp Inc. (IMB) dropped $1.02, or 4.8 percent, to $20.03 in extended trading. The second-largest independent U.S. mortgage lender is joining rivals in making ``very major changes'' to loan standards and raising interest rates because of a slump in mortgage securities, an e-mail to the company's employees said.
Omnicare Inc. (OCR) declined $2.02, or 5.8 percent, to $32.92 in after-hours trading. The biggest provider of pharmacy services to U.S. nursing homes said quarterly sales fell as it cut profit forecasts.
Westlake Chemical Corp. (WLK) gained 84 cents, or 3.2 percent, to $26.69 in after-hours trading. The maker of chemicals, vinyls and other fabricated products reported second- quarter net income of $37.9 million, or 58 cents per share. Profit was estimated to be 57 cents per share, the average of six analysts.
