Coca-Cola Co. (KO) climbed 2.5 percent to $62.48. The world's largest soft-drink maker said first-quarter profit rose 19 percent, beating analysts' estimates, after sales in Latin America and Russia increased.

CSX Corp. (CSX) rose 73 cents, or 1.3 percent, to $55.50 after the official close of U.S. exchanges yesterday. The third- largest U.S. railroad said first-quarter profit increased to 85 cents a share because of higher shipping revenue. The result beat the 74-cent average estimate of analysts surveyed by Bloomberg.

American depositary receipts for Infineon Technologies AG (IFX), a German computer-chip maker, gained 5.8 percent to $7.68.

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPM) gained 1.9 percent to $42.90. The third-biggest U.S. bank reported first-quarter profit of 68 cents a share, matching the average estimate of analysts in a Bloomberg survey. Net income fell 50 percent after $5.1 billion of writedowns and provisions linked to the collapse of the subprime mortgage market and bad home-equity loans.
