Boston Scientific Corp. (BSX) rose 59 cents, or 4.6 percent, to $13.44 after the official close of U.S. exchanges. The world's second-largest maker of heart devices forecast profit excluding some items of at least 15 cents a share for the first quarter. A Bloomberg survey of analysts had an average estimate of 13 cents.
Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC) climbed $1.61, or 3.8 percent, to $43.70 in extended trading. The manager of networks for NASA and the U.S. Navy posted a 58 percent increase in third-quarter profit after winning more contracts to manage software and data for businesses. Excluding some costs, profit was $1.11, beating the average estimate of 99 cents in a survey of analysts by Bloomberg.
National Semiconductor Corp. (NSM) dropped 62 cents, or 3.3 percent, to $18.40 in extended trading. The maker of chips for devices such as Apple Inc.'s iPhone cut its sales forecast for this quarter after shipments to mobile-phone makers fell short of projections.
