LSI Corp. (LSI) fell 20 cents, or 5 percent, to $3.81 in trading in Germany. The maker of computer-storage chips reported a fourth-quarter loss of $2 billion after writing down the value of its semiconductor business.
Nokia Oyj (NOK) rose $2.04, or 6.3 percent, to $34.47 in trading before U.S. exchanges opened. The world's biggest maker of mobile phones said fourth-quarter profit exceeded analyst estimates and shipments rose to a record.
Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (POT) rose $7.85, or 6.5 percent, to $128 in trading before U.S. exchanges opened. The world's largest maker of crop nutrients said profit more than doubled to a record as rising commodity prices spurred fertilizer demand. Net income will be $1.30 to $1.60 a share in the current quarter and $6.25 to $7.25 for the full year. Potash was forecast to have profit excluding some items of $1.20 a share in the first quarter and $5.57 a share in 2008.
