Alcoa Inc. (AA) rose $1.18, or 3.8 percent, to $32.43 after the official close of U.S. exchanges. The world's third- largest aluminum company said fourth-quarter profit excluding some items was 36 cents a share. The company was expected to earn 34 cents.
Men's Wearhouse Inc. (MW) dropped $3.35, or 13 percent, to $22.09 in extended trading. The men's clothing retailer lowered its earnings forecasts for the fourth quarter and full year after fewer customers visited its stores.
Ruby Tuesday Inc. (RT) fell 12 cents, or 1.7 percent, to $7.12 in extended trading. The casual-dining restaurant chain reported a second-quarter loss as sales at locations open at least a year declined. The company said it may be in violation of debt covenants and it's in talks with lenders to obtain waivers.
United Parcel Service Inc. (UPS) gained $1.74, or 2.6 percent, to $68.45 in extended trading. The world's largest package-shipping company approved a fivefold increase in its stock-buyback program to $10 billion.
