Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK/A): Billionaire Warren Buffett's Berkshire will pay $4.5 billion for 60 percent of Marmon Holdings Inc., the private company owned by trusts for Chicago's Pritzker family. Berkshire will eventually buy all of Marmon, which has stakes in more than 125 manufacturing and service businesses. The shares rose 3 percent to $137,980 on Dec. 24.
MasterCard Inc. (MA): The consulting unit of the second- biggest credit-card company said overall retail sales from Nov. 23 to Dec. 24 increased 3.6 percent. MasterCard fell 23 cents to $212.12 on Dec. 24.
Toyota Motor Corp. American depositary receipts (TM): Toyota and Honda Motor Co., Japan's two largest automakers, increased production in November on higher overseas demand. Toyota built 803,663 cars and light trucks last month, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier, it said. Honda's output rose 10 percent to 363,046, the company said separately.
Toyota lost 15 cents to $107.25 on Dec. 24. Honda American depositary receipts (HMC) dropped 3 cents to $33.68.
