Hewlett-Packard Co. (HPQ) rose 40 cents, or 0.9 percent, to $46.45 in after-hours trading. The world's largest personal- computer maker said profit this quarter will be 80 cents to 81 cents a share in the current quarter. Analysts had estimated profit of 78 cents, on average.
Leucadia National Corp. (LUK) added $1.02, or 2.5 percent, to $42.02 in extended trading. The holding company with interests including insurance, wine, real estate and manufacturing will replace KeySpan Corp. (KSE) in the Standard & Poor's 500 Index, S&P said in a statement.
Nordstrom Inc. (JWN) The owner of 98 U.S. department stores said second-quarter profit climbed on increased sales of women's clothes and handbags. The retailer boosted its earnings forecast for the year. The stock was unchanged at $46.15 in regular trading.
