Durable Goods Orders for June are estimated to rise 1.9% versus a -2.8% decline in May.
Durables Ex Transports for June are estimated to rise .6% versus a -1.0% decline in May. Initial Jobless Claims for last week are estimated to rise to 310K versus 301K prior. Continuing Claims are estimated to fall to
2543K versus 2571K prior.

New Home Sales for June are estimated to fall to 890K versus 915K in May.

Amerigroup Inc. (AGP) gained $2.35, or 9.8 percent, to $26.29 in after-hours trading. The provider of managed-care plans for low-income Americans said second-quarter net income was 61 cents a share, exceeding the 46-cent average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg

Mylan Laboratories Inc. (MYL) The U.S. drugmaker buying Merck KGaA's global generics unit said first-quarter profit, excluding some items, was 52 cents a share, which is below the 53-cent average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Mylan shares gained 30 cents to $17.92 in regular trading yesterday.

MBIA Inc. (MBI)
gained $2.10, or 3.5 percent, to $62.09 in trading before U.S. exchanges opened. The world's biggest bond insurer reported second-quarter profit, excluding investment income, of $1.57 a share. The average analyst estimate from a Bloomberg survey was for $1.52 a share.

Watch the financial sector (BSC, LEH, MER etc) for a continued breakdown in the wake of the subprime mortgage problem spreading to the prime sector.
