Amerigroup Inc. (AGP) gained $2.35, or 9.8 percent, to $26.29 in after-hours trading. The provider of managed-care plans for low-income Americans said second-quarter net income was 61 cents a share, exceeding the 46-cent average estimate of 13 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg
Mylan Laboratories Inc. (MYL) The U.S. drugmaker buying Merck KGaA's global generics unit said first-quarter profit, excluding some items, was 52 cents a share, which is below the 53-cent average estimate of 11 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg. Mylan shares gained 30 cents to $17.92 in regular trading yesterday.
MBIA Inc. (MBI) gained $2.10, or 3.5 percent, to $62.09 in trading before U.S. exchanges opened. The world's biggest bond insurer reported second-quarter profit, excluding investment income, of $1.57 a share. The average analyst estimate from a Bloomberg survey was for $1.52 a share.
